We are a group looking at all aspects of art – from the earliest cave paintings and drawings to the cutting edge of modern art.
Recent talks include a director of the Lowry on modern art.
Our programme includes visits to art galleries.
If you are interested in hearing a mixture of in-house and guest speakers then you would be very welcome to join us.

We have around 40 members at present who meet on the third Thursday of the month, usually from October to March at the Village Hall, Outwood Road, Heald Green from 2 to 4 p.m.
There is a subscription of £2.00 for each meeting which includes light refreshments.
Past meetings have included subject such as All You Wanted to Know about Modern Art, The Lord Mayor of London’s Fourth Plinth Project and The Male Nude.

Following Government guidelines, all Cheadle Hulme U3A face-to-face activities are have been suspended since March 2020, including all Interest Group meetings.
However, the Art Appreciation Group has started again and is currently running monthly meetings on Zoom.
On 20th May at 2pm we will have Dr. James Taylor as a guest, talking about the Russell-Cotes Museum and Art Gallery. Via Zoom.
