The poetry discussion group, which is a small but interested group, has met on the first Monday of the month at the group organiser's home.
We have examined selected poems in some detail and have discussed our responses to them. Poets whose works we have studied have been mostly twentieth century writers such as Ted Hughes, R.S. Thomas and Seamus Heaney.
From October the format of the meetings will change and members of the group will take it in turns to choose the poems being discussed and to lead the sessions. We hope that this approach will be successful. We shall meet at members' homes, although this does inevitably restrict the number in the group to a maximum of eight.
